Alright, so

Y’know anti-piracy commercials, right? Shit like “DON’T COPY THAT FLOPPY” and “YOU WOULDN’T STEAL A CAR” and stuff? Always so bad and easily made fun of.

But there were also those ads they’d put on DVDs where they take a scene from like fuckin’ Gone With the Wind or Casablanca where two characters were arguing and text would pop up and be all like “These two are arguing because that guy caught that chick pirating DVDs” and they were like legitimately funny because it didn’t feel like the ads were taking themselves too seriously and it was genuinely amusing to think that these old movie scenes were about two people arguing over downloading movies illegally.

Well I was watching my Blu-ray copy of 2010’s Alice in Wonderland (because I think it’s a pretty good movie, shut up) and I decided to check out the sneak peeks and the first one is this one and it was all “WHAT IF PIRATES STOLE ALL THE MAGIC” and I thought it was some new Tinkerbell special or something. There was all this weird video distortion but I didn’t really think anything of it.

The ad goes on and I shortly realize the entire thing is about fucking Internet piracy. I nearly choked laughing when I realized the entire ad essentially boiled down to “If you are pirating movies you are sTEALING THE MAGIC FROM FAIRY HOLLOW AND YOU ARE KILLING TINKERBELL YOU HEARTLESS FUCKING MONSTER YOU MAKE ME SICK.” It wasn’t even trying to be funny or anything, it was all played 100% straight.

So stop pirating Disney movies you guys or else you’ll kill Tinkerbell.
